Self – contained water circuit, variable speed turbines, water flow visible through sight glass, dual shaft motor with torque measuring system, speed control with overspeed trip, operations in series or parallel, a 3-way valve changes operation from series to parallel, dynamometer can operate with either turbine.
The plant is designed for continuous operation and includes two turbines coupled to a dynamometer and a control switchboard integral with a large water tank which is mounted on a steel base with swivel wheels, together with two centrifugal pumps and relevant pipework. The centrifugal pumps can be used as pumps or can also feed the turbines. A regulating valve adjusts the feed to each turbine.
